Role Overview

As Director of Engineering, you will lead and mentor engineering teams, drive technical strategy, and ensure the successful delivery of our product roadmap. This position reports directly to the CTO and plays a crucial role in shaping the company's technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and organizational leadership to multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product management to define and execute the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs
• Drive architectural decisions and technical standards that enable scalability, reliability, and maintainability of our platform
• Lead hiring, mentoring, and professional development initiatives for the engineering organization
• Establish and optimize engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices
• Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and technical debt prioritization
• Partner with other departments to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration and delivery

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern software development practices
• Experience with AI/ML technologies and their practical applications
• Track record of successfully leading and scaling engineering teams
• Excellence in architectural design and system optimization
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience in vendor management
• Experience running all parts of the engineering process (development, QA, devops, scrum)
• Deep hands on experience with getting teams to collaborate and execute
• Budget management and projection
• Demonstratable history of hitting deadlines
• Experience in PropTech or real estate technology
• Knowledge of property management operations and maintenance processes
